During the development of CowDetect, AgroTech carried out a value analysis of knowing the real time position of the animals.  For adult cattle the profit potential is stipulated to be EURO 318-357 per cow per annum.

One example to be highlighted is that even short-term changes in the feeding behaviour of the cows are a good indication that the cow is beginning to have a problem. The feeding time for cows which were beginning to develop ketosis fell already 3.6 days before ketosis was clinically diagnosed. Similarly, the feeding behaviour changed already 8 days before an acute hoof or limb disorder was diagnosed.
